Our client in Jersey is looking for 2 x Physiotherapists to join their team

You will be required -

  • To provide highly skilled and specialised assessment, diagnosis and treatment for patients within the clinic.
  • To work clinically at the level of an expert autonomous practitioner, undertaking expert assessment of patients with complex musculoskeletal conditions, providing diagnosis/prognosis, treatment, and advice regarding treatment options to clients, sports people (athletes or players), and referring GPs and consultants.
  • Take an active role in promoting physiotherapy, and other clinic services to our clients, the medical profession and the greater general public.
  • Positively contribute to the team delivery of effective physiotherapy by providing appropriate clinical leadership, educational and development expertise.
  • Bring innovation, provide advanced clinical skills and strategic direction in your particular area of expertise by expanding and developing practice; implementing clinical governance and delivering improved outcomes for patients.
  • To be an ambassador for and make a distinguished contribution to The Jersey Sports & Spinal Clinic, the profession and promote the business within the medical profession locally by robust and effective communication systems.
  • To work autonomously as a physiotherapist, making clinical decisions independently.
  • To undertake advanced musculoskeletal assessment of patients presenting with acute, chronic and/or highly complex physical and psychosocial presentations. To interpret and analyse clinical and non-clinical information using advanced investigative and analytical skills. This will frequently include patients with multiple pathologies, where conflicting evidence may be present.
  • To use advanced clinical reasoning skills to provide accurate diagnosis and prognosis of patients conditions. Advise clients and referring doctors regarding appropriate treatment options. This requires an advanced theoretical knowledge of anatomy, physiology, biomechanics and pathology.
  • Obtain information on patient needs and expectations within the overall context of their physiotherapy and care requirements. Follow processes of specific clinical reasoning which allows optimum outcomes to be achieved promoting their return to their chosen activity or sport.
  • To demonstrate highly developed dexterity, co-ordination and palpatory skills for assessment of patients.
  • To be responsible for appropriate referral of patients to other health professionals including Sports Medicine Physicians, orthopaedic consultants, specialist GPs and other AHPs.
  • To provide advice to coaches, teachers, patients, GPs and employers on the appropriate time to return to work, sports and other activities.
  • To have responsibility for seeking advice when necessary regarding clinical diagnosis and patient management from the Clinical Lead, other team members or clinical guidelines and evidence-based information.
  • To coordinate intervention (e.g. injection therapy) which may include other disciplines.
  • To advise and educate athletes/players/ patients/carers/relatives/other health professionals such as GPs.
  • To ensure that up to date written and electronic records and activity data are maintained in accordance with professional standards, including legal reports for own caseload and providing clinical reports as required.
  • To ensure that all patient interventions performed fall within current clinical governance.
  • To manage clinical risk within own caseload.
  • To be responsible for the safety and security of equipment used.
  • To demonstrate flexibility to support the delivery of the services include flexible working hours according to the needs of the business.
