Our client is looking for a Therapy Assistant to join their team.
Under the supervision of the Physiotherapist and Occupational Therapist you will be required to -
*Assist the therapy staff with assessment and treatment of pensioners under their direct guidance
*Maintain professional documentation in accordance professional standards
*Carry out delegated tasks as requested by the therapists as relevant to the delivery of Therapy services
*Work in close collaboration with members of the MDT re therapy input/pensioner progress
*Continuously monitor pensioners for changes in needs and functional performance and liaise appropriately with the therapy team.
*Demonstrate skills in engaging and motivating pensioners to engage in therapeutic activities.
*Support the smooth and efficient running of the therapy service by contributing to meetings, maintaining equipment and performing delegated operational and administration tasks.
To ensure the safety of Pensioners using the gym:
*After induction and assessment by the physiotherapist supervise and assist pensioners to use equipment appropriately.
*Through vigilant observation of pensioners ensure compliance with safety precautions and therapy advice.
*Ensure compliance with the Gym Use Policy.
Essential Skills-
*Demonstrable organisational skills
*Good communication skills
*Ability to explain treatments to Pensioners and staff.
*Be confident in delivering hands on treatment to older adults
*Good team player
*Good interpersonal skills.
*Good attention to detail
