London 2012 Paralympic Games

Monday 6th August 2012

The Olympic stadium was brought back to life on Wednesday night, as it staged yet another spectacular Opening Ceremony for the London 2012 Paralympic Games.

Themed ‘Enlightenment’, the ceremony starred Professor Stephen Hawking and featured deaf and disabled performers as well as more than 3,000 volunteers. The ceremony was a truly impressive theatrical performance, exploring the realm of ideas, science and creativity, and we would like to applaud all of those who took part.

With over 4200 athletes competing in London over the days ahead, the Paralympics Games are set to be the largest ever staged! - And not without an audience, as spectator tickets near a complete sell-out!

We simply can’t wait to watch the inspirational games unfold over the coming weeks and again would like to wish Team GB and all of the competing countries the best of luck!
