JustPhysio are looking for a HCPC registered Band 6 Community Inpatient Physiotherapist based in Kent, to start ASAP for a period of 2 months.

Job Summary: A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Physiotherapist to join the Inpatient Therapy Team. Inpatient Rehabilitation Wards providing care and Therapy for the local community. The wards mainly cater for the older population but also cater for much younger patients with long term conditions or following significant trauma. You will benefit from working with a well-established multidisciplinary team including Pharmacists, Doctors, Consultants, Nurses and of course the Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy staff. You will gain further experience of working in an Inpatient setting working with patients who have multiple comorbidities. You will join our forward-thinking Therapy Team providing a high-quality rehabilitation service, working closely with the multidisciplinary team. You will assess patient's physical, social and psychological needs within the hospital setting and in discussion with the patient, carer's, family and multidisciplinary team formulate and implement treatment programmes and discharge planning. You will be expected to support and supervise Therapy Assistants and participate in the training of others as appropriate. You should also be able to supervise students should the need arise. You should have a minimum of 2 years post qualification experience or equivalent, including multidisciplinary and community working, and have very good knowledge of a range of physical conditions relating to older people, including rehabilitation, falls and orthopaedics. You will have very good clinical assessment skills, be able to utilise very good communication skills and be passionate about empowering patients, their carer's and their Family. Flexibility and adaptability are essential. Applicants must be pro-active and adaptable and have knowledge and experience of working within the NHS system.
Skills/Experience: For this role you are required to have: A Degree level qualification or equivalent in Physiotherapy. Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council. At least 2 years post qualification experience including elderly care, community work and working as part of a multidisciplinary team. Very good knowledge of a range of physical conditions relating to older people, including rehabilitation, falls and orthopaedics. Very good clinical assessment skills Very good communication skills. Be pro-active. Be passionate about empowering patients, their carer's and their Family. Be Flexible and adaptable. Experience of working in the NHS System. To work as an autonomous practitioner performing therapeutic assessment and treatment of patients with a diverse presentation and complex physical, psychological and cognitive conditions. To provide/contribute to the diagnosis of a condition and develop and deliver an individualised treatment programme appropriate to the patient's condition. To provide physiotherapy assessment and intervention in a hospital location. (There may be the need to assist Occupational Therapists on Home Visit Assessments from time to time). To hold responsibility for own caseloads working without direct supervision. To provide supervision to staff members in the team as necessary including students as appropriate. To teach and share information with other staff members as appropriate. To work closely with other health care professionals ensuring physiotherapy treatment is fully integrated into the patient's care programmes and attend multidisciplinary meetings as required. To be familiar with using NHS patient records systems.
