An exciting opportunity has arisen to work as a specialist neuro-physiotherapist within our client's inter-disciplinary team, supporting people with a variety of neurological conditions in the community. The team has regular meetings, supervision and in-service training and positively encourages attendance at specialist external training (with funding available). The post also includes the opportunity to work in a specialist neuro physio outpatient setting including FES and spasticity management, supervised by a clinical specialist physiotherapist.

Our client is are seeking a part time (30 hours a week) band 6 physiotherapist. The successful candidate will undertake specialist person-centred assessment, rehabilitation and management for people with long term neurological conditions including the promotion of health and prevention of secondary complications. They will visit service users at home or in the community and work in collaboration with the team, family members, carers and other appropriate services to achieve person centred goals and promote independence and wellbeing.

The Community Neuro and Stroke Service - Planned Rehab - provides rehabilitation in the community for adults with complex long term neurological conditions. This includes acute neuro-rehab when required and supporting people with a wide variety of neurological conditions in self-management where they are able. They work closely with other health and social care colleagues, family and paid carers, and voluntary organisations to provide person centred care. The team consists of physiotherapists, occupational therapists, specialist nurses, a rehabilitation assistant, a speech and language therapist and a clinical neuro psychologist. We encourage joint and collaborative working with other professions which is positive for service users and for learning and personal development as a professional. They work closely with their colleagues in the the Early Supported Discharge (Stroke) Team and have access to FES, Saebo Flex and a variety of small equipment.

You must have the relevant professional qualification and be registered with HCPC. It is essential that you have experience of providing rehabilitation within a multidisciplinary team and have experience of working in a community setting and with neurological conditions. You must have evidence of relevant post graduate learning and development and demonstrate that your clinical practice is person centred and evidence based. The ability to work as part of a team, show initiative and be flexible in your work is essential. You must have good communication skills and be able to relate to people in sometimes challenging and complex situations.
