Just Physio are looking for a Neurological Physiotherapist to work with their client based in London

Our client provides compassionate care , with a team of skilled carers, nurses and therapists dedicated to the well-being of each resident they support. Their adult services provide rehabilitation and long-term support for individuals who have suffered acquired or traumatic brain injury. Their multidisciplinary team provides rehabilitation and longer-term living. The rehabilitation provided spans behavioural, social, cognitive, physical and functional skills retraining.

You will be required -

  • To participate as a full member of the multi-disciplinary team in the assessing, planning, implementation and evaluation of individual treatment and rehabilitation plans liaising with other relevant agencies as appropriate.
  • To use an evidenced based patient centred approach to assess, plan, implement and evaluate treatment plans to support residents physical and psychological needs.
  • Work with resident and team members to identify goals and set treatment plans.
  • Liaise with relatives and carers with empathy giving information, support and advice whenever and as often as required, in respect of treatment plans.
  • Maintain concise records and provide reports as necessary for each residents case review.
  • Identify risks and advise other team members on interventions to minimise risks.
  • Participate in clinical meetings, reviews and other discussions where required.
  • To ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of all Physiotherapy equipment.
  • Provide advice and support to staff by teaching relevant techniques to safely implement treatment plans.
  • Know when to refer to external agencies as appropriate.
  • Undertake such duties as may be reasonably requested from time to time.
  • To observe hydrotherapy residents for any warning signs and highlight any concerns to the physiotherapist.
  • To ensure residents take any emergency medication (such as inhalers and GTN sprays) to hydrotherapy sessions and are wearing waterproof dressings if required.
  • To be competent in, and regularly practice, hydrotherapy emergency evacuation procedures.
  • To liaise with housekeeping, maintenance team and microbiology with regards to hydrotherapy pool management when required.
  • To report any incidents/ accidents to the appropriate members of staff and complete the necessary documentation.
  • To ensure a safe hydrotherapy environment including clear pool access (entrances and exits), removal of any standing water on the poolside and ensuring emergency equipment is working and readily available to use if required.
  • To ensure residents for hydrotherapy have showered before and after each session and encourage fluid replenishment.

TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT

  • To continuously develop clinical expertise, maintaining HCPC registration and MCSP membership.
  • To contribute to the development and training needs within the Therapy Team and the wider MDT including Nurses and Care staff.
  • To be involved in service development within the Therapy team.
  • To participate in clinical governance activities and projects, undertaking appropriate audit projects and implementing recommendations.
  • To participate in an annual appraisal with line Manager, ensuring that the objectives reflect PJ Care Values and the Physiotherapy Service.
  • To review and reflect on own practice and performance through the effective use of both operational and professional supervision.
