New physiotherapy jobs may become available in Redditch thanks to the development of a medical centre.
Work has begun on the £350,000 facility, which will house a number of services - including eye treatment and dermatology - the Redditch Advertiser reports.
It is hoped that in the near future, additional offerings such as physiotherapy will be made available.
The purpose of the venture is to provide local patients with greater choice and to take some pressure off the local hospital.
It is being driven by Assura - which was incorporated in October 2003 and first listed on the London Stock Exchange in November 2003.
Commenting on the scheme, the firm's development manager Amanda Horley said: "We are delighted that fit-out works have now begun on what will be a fantastic new facility for the local community."
She added that the location of the centre will make it particularly convenient for patients.
