Physiotherapists to begin work in new centre
Friday 4th December 2009
Physiotherapists will take up new positions today at the Redcar Primary Care Hospital in the north-east.
According to the local Evening Gazette, physiotherapy services will be among the first to be offered at the West Dyke Road facility, with audiologists and podiatrists moving in at the same time.
NHS Tees chief executive Chris Willis praised the new £30 million building and told the newspaper it had been worth the ten-year wait between its conception and completion.
"A lot of hard work has gone into making this fantastic facility which will be a great asset to the people of Redcar and Cleveland," he added.
All of the centre's healthcare services are scheduled to be operational by December 21st, while the hospital is expected to be up and running completely by mid-January.
It will be overseen by NHS Redcar and Cleveland, which covers a population of over 135,000 people in the local area.
