Physiotherapists among medical staff to benefit from new centre
Friday 4th December 2009
Physiotherapists are among the medical professionals who will be relocating to a new facility in Glasgow.
The development, which is to be situated in Possilpark, will replace the existing facility in Denmark Street and it is scheduled to open in 2012.
Part of a project being spearheaded by North Glasgow Community Health Care Partnership (CHCP), the state-of-the-art wellbeing centre will serve a population of more than 8,000.
Among the services to be offered there is physiotherapy, as well as youth health provisions and outreach clinics.
Chair of North Glasgow CHCP Councillor Jim MacKechnie said: "The new centre brings together key health and social care staff under one roof with a focus on prevention and early intervention, particularly concentrating on parenting, nutrition and children's health."
The care partnership covers a range of areas in North Glasgow, including Balornock, Firhill, Gilshochill, Hamiltonhill, Stobhill, Ruchill, Sighthill, Possilpark, Robroyston and North Kelvinside.
