New physiotherapy unit to be opened by health secretary
Monday 2nd November 2009
A new clinic providing physiotherapy jobs in Elgin will today be opened by health secretary Nicola Sturgeon.
Ms Sturgeon will be visiting the town to chair NHS Grampian's annual review and to open its new £7 million Glassgreen Centre, which will offer GP and dental surgeries and social work offices as well as a physiotherapy department, the Aberdeen Press and Journal reported.
The centre, she suggested, is a good example of the Scottish government's pledge to provide locals with social and health care close to home.
She said she is looking forward to visiting the authority "to see how the board has been working towards its key targets over the past year, as well as hearing about its priorities going forward".
The new medical establishment replaces the Victoria Crescent Health Centre and claims that having a combination of services delivered on the same site will improve communication and convenience for both visiting patients and those in purpose built lodgings.
