Physiotherapist overcomes adversity to launch business

A woman who nearly lost her life to a rare medical disorder has demonstrated her resolve by launching a physiotherapy business.

Fatemeh Sajadinia was diagnosed with endometriosis in 2007, north-east publication the Journal reports.

The condition generally affects women between the ages of 25 and 40 and it causes cells that usually occur in the lining of the womb to appear elsewhere in the body.

Ms Sajadinia almost died when an abdominal hysterectomy ran into complications.

Refusing to give in, she has since set up her own health and fitness studio after acquiring a two-storey building in Fenham.

Ms Sajadinia said: "I realised that I was wasting my talent and decided to purchase the site in Fenham. It has been a very difficult time, but I am now doing something that I have always dreamed of."

She is seeking to expand her business to provide physiotherapy for NHS patients.
