David Cameron: NHS is fantastic
Monday 24th August 2009
Conservative Party leader David Cameron has come out in support of the NHS once again, this time describing it as "fantastic and a precious fact of British life".
Speaking in Bolton, he said that reducing health spending would be a "step backwards" for the country.
In news that may be of interest to those searching for physiotherapy jobs, Mr Cameron claimed NHS spending would rise in line with inflation between 2011 and 2014 if the Conservative Party wins the next general election.
He noted that with the NHS "you know that whoever you are, wherever you're from, whatever's wrong, however much you've got in the bank, there's a place you can go where people will look after you".
In related news, a group of 50 demonstrators gathered outside the US Embassy in London earlier this week to show their support for the UK health system.
