Radiography and physiotherapy services included in plans for health centre
Wednesday 12th August 2009
Plans for a new polyclinic include provisions for radiography and physiotherapy services, it has been revealed.
According to a report in the Kingston Guardian, a meeting taking place this week will see proposals for the £15 medical centre will be discussed, the Kingston Guardian reports.
Board members of Kingston NHS will put forward their overall strategy for the site.
As well as radiography and physiotherapy sections, the centre would house GP surgeries, a midwife area and possibly a dental surgery.
The site is Surbiton Hospital, which was facing closure earlier this year.
Plans to turn it into a polyclinic were mooted after a petition initiated by the Surrey Comet opposing the closure collected 7,000 signatures.
A further meeting will be held in September, although it is not yet know whether this will be public or private.
Another medical centre to be set for a revamp is Morriston Hospital, which is to have a £200 million investment.
