Phlebotomists and physiotherapists to begin work in new health centre
Monday 20th July 2009
A number of people with phlebotomy and physiotherapy jobs are to begin work at a new medical centre.
Tomorrow (July 21st), healthcare workers will open the Timber Hill Health Centre in The Mall Norwich, the Norwich Evening News reports.
The facility will enable patients to see doctors without booking an appointment and it will be open from 07:00 GMT until 21:00 GMT 365 days a year.
Project manager for the centre Jonathan Fagge said: "The two fantastic things about this centre are its city centre location and the fact that it is GP-led.
"It means there are people who will be able to come in on their lunch breaks or when they are shopping without making an appointment."
He added that professionals working at the centre will be unhappy if patients are not seen within 30 minutes of entering.
The facility is to be managed by Norwich Practices, which is commissioned by NHS Norfolk - a trust which provides services to most of the county, with the exception of the area around Great Yarmouth.
