Podiatrists to begin work in new medical centre
Thursday 16th July 2009
Podiatrists will be among the medical professionals beginning work at a new medical centre next week.
According to reports in the Bath Chronicle, the facility - which cost £7 million to construct - is set out over three storeys and will begin offering services from Monday (July 20th).
In addition to podiatrists, speech and language therapists and physiotherapists will operate in the centre, along with GPs, midwives, school nurses, dentists and health visitors.
Rhona MacDonald, chief executive of NHS Bath and North East Somerset, said the centre will initiate a new era of healthcare in the local area.
She added: "Keynsham Health Centre will change the way people receive healthcare. By bringing services together under one roof, people can receive the care they need in the same place without having to travel as far."
NHS Bath and North East Somerset serves a population of more than 186,000 and provides a range of medical services.
