Monday 13th July 2009
Physiotherapists are among the medical professionals who have begun working at a new medical centre in Nairn.
Located at the back of the Nairn Town and County Hospital, the facility houses 20 beds, a new X-ray machine, GP clinics, an accident and emergency unit, physiotherapy gyms and a physiotherapy department, the Aberdeen Press and Journal reports.
The first phase of the centre was opened last week.
Commenting on the development, Nairn locality clinical lead Dr Adrian Baker said: "We are thrilled to see this development come to fruition. It has been the culmination of many years of hard work and detailed planning."
He added that those involved in the project are confident that the layout of the facilities, which are all under one roof, will offer maximum benefits to all its patients and staff.
Recently, permission for the creation of a new medical centre in Airdrie was given, meaning new medical jobs are likely to be created in the area, the the Airdrie and Coatbridge Advertiser reported.
