New network of physiotherapists launched
Friday 3rd July 2009
A new network of physiotherapy service providers has been launched in the UK.
Bupa Health Insurance has set up more than 3,000 such providers.
According to the firm's head of provider relations Steven Pink, the network has been designed to address variations in the average number of physiotherapy sessions, treatment time and cost per treatment provided by Bupa.
He added: "As we approach the conclusion of our network roll-out we will be advising previously recognised Bupa providers who did not participate in the tender that funding will no longer be available for the treatment of Bupa customers."
Mr Pink also said that the development of the network should lead to a reduction in the average cost of Bupa's physiotherapy treatments of up to ten per cent over the next two years.
An international healthcare company, Bupa has operations on three continents and claims to have more than seven million customers.
