Physiotherapists to work in new health centre

Physiotherapists will be among the health professionals working at a new medical facility set to open in Norfolk.

The Timber Hill Health Centre, which is to open its doors in July, will provide a range of services in addition to physiotherapy, including phlebotomy and childhood immunisations, the Norwich Evening News reports.

Located in the Mall Norwich, the medical centre is expected to have around 1,200 registered patients once it is up and running and will deal with up to 14 patients per hour.

Commenting on the offering, NHS Norfolk chief executive Julie Garbutt said: "This new centre will offer a host of excellent, additional enhanced services to our patients as well as being our first, doctor-led walk-in service, opening at times that our patients have said is more convenient to them, all year round."

She added that the opening of the facility will be the culmination of months of commitment displayed by those involved.

Formerly known as Norfolk Primary Care Trust, NHS Norfolk is responsible for providing health services for most of the county, apart from the area around Great Yarmouth.
