Physiotherapists to take part in open day
Monday 8th June 2009
A number of people with physiotherapy jobs are to take part in an open day in Haslemere.
Staff at the Holy Cross Hospital are to show off a state-of-the-art hydrotherapy pool and will offer massages to visitors.
Commenting on the initiative, senior physiotherapist Karen Ford said: "The open day gives visitors the opportunity to meet our new physiotherapy team and there will be an extra treat for those with weary fingers, as we are providing a relaxing hand massage for free on a first come, first served basis."
She added that the service provided at Holy Cross Hospital aims to help people return to work, get back into playing sport and to make their day-to-day activities pain-free.
Among the new facilities on offer at the centre are a gym and an underwater exercise bike.
With roots tracing back to 1917, Holy Cross Hospital offers services that are not generally available through the NHS.
In particular, it has developed treatments designed for patients with severe disabilities including those who have suffered head injuries or illnesses of the brain and nervous system.
