Monday 18th May 2009
Medical workers in a new centre recently held an open day for patients.
The Laurencekirk Healthcare Centre in Blackiemuir opened on April 14th, with the open day taking place a month later on Saturday May 15th, Kincardineshire Today reports.
Among the services offered at the facility are physiotherapy, speech and language therapy and dietetics.
According to practice manager Marion Taylor, the centre will have a staff of 53 when it is fully operational.
She added: "The new Healthcare Centre has been well received by patients and staff so far and we feel that the extra room and new technology available will enable us to include a number of specialist clinics in the future."
Recently, plans for a new medical centre in Scartho were given the go-ahead.
Set to cost £4.5 million, the facility will provide services for 10,000 initially, rising to 15,000 when it is fully completed, the Grimsby Telegraph reported.
