A team of physiotherapists are to benefit from increased funding to enhance the services they offer.
Recently, NHS Bolton received £16,000 in recognition of its creative ideas, which it will be able to spend on an innovative project, Bolton News reports.
It was one of four finalists in the NHS North West's first Transforming Community Services Innovation awards.
Responding to the development, Sue Greenhalgh, a consultant physiotherapist with NHS Bolton, said: "We're delighted with this award.
"The money will enable us to engage with patients in new ways so that the service develops to meet their needs even better in future."
Meanwhile, Alison Tonge, director of performance, nursing and quality at NHS North West, added that the organisation is "determined" to embed innovation in the frontline of medical services.
Created in July 2006, NHS North West oversees a regional budget of £9.5 billion and is one of England's ten strategic health authorities.
