Physiotherapy team receive innovation award

A team of physiotherapists have been praised for their work helping people with severe disabilities.

The therapy department at Chaseley Trust received an innovation award for their efforts, Eastbourne Today reports.

They provide flexible programmes which are designed specifically with patients' needs in mind.

Recently, the Rehab Group - a non-profit organisation which rewards examples of best practice, improvement and creativity among such workers - identified Chaseley Trust as particularly successful.

The trust provides out-patient physiotherapy in a refurbished gym, which has a range of facilities, including a ceiling hoist and standing frames.

It is contracted from East Sussex Hospitals Trust, which is an acute hospitals organisation which mainly serves the residents of East Sussex but also provides services to patients from adjacent counties, as well as those who visit the area for recreational purposes.

The trust is responsible for running two general hospitals, namely Conquest Hospital and Eastbourne District General Hospital.
