Medical staff and patients tour new facilities
Wednesday 18th March 2009
Medical staff, patients and fundraisers recently toured a new therapies department.
A total of over 100 people turned up to visit the facility, which houses treatment areas for physiotherapy and occupational therapy, among other things.
The department has been moved from a ground floor location at Cannock Chase Hospital - which is run by Mid Staffordshire NHS Foundation Trust - to the first floor.
Commenting on the development, rehabilitation day unit sister Vilma Allman said: "We are in a smaller area compared to our previous location, but that means we work closer as a team. There is much more social interaction between all staff and patients."
She added that the open day had been a "great success" and it was good to see former patients and the progress they had made since leaving the hospital's care.
The Mid Staffordshire NHS Foundation Trust employs a total of around 3,000 members of staff and provides services to patients from Stafford, Cannock, Rugeley and the surrounding areas.
