Physiotherapists recognised for contributions to the field
Monday 8th December 2008
Two physiotherapists have been recognised for their contributions to the field, it has emerged.
Sue Greenhalgh and Professor James Selfe, who both come from the north-west town of Bolton, were awarded fellowships for their achievements.
Ms Greenhalgh is a consultant physiotherapist for Bolton Primary Care Trust - which serves a population of around 261,000 - while Professor Selfe works at the University of Central Lancashire, the Bolton News reports.
Commenting on her achievement, Ms Greenhalgh said: "It's a job that I love a lot and it is really rewarding, particularly in Bolton.
"We are doing innovative work here that has won awards and now we are getting fellowships."
She went on to describe the award as a "real honour".
They were nominated individually, although they have worked together on a number of things, including books.
The ceremony to present the two health experts with fellowships took place at the Russell Hotel in London recently.
