Physiotherapists involved in back campaign
Wednesday 15th October 2008
A number of people with physiotherapy jobs are currently involved in a campaign to encourage people to take care of their backs, it has been revealed.
According to reports in Peterborough Today, visitors to the Memorial Wing of Peterborough District Hospital this week will be quizzed by physiotherapists concerning aspects of their lifestyles as part of national Back Care Awareness Week.
An annual event, the week promotes awareness of people who suffer from back pain and what can be done to help treat and prevent the condition.
It is spearheaded by national charity BackCare, an organisation which provides information and support and promotes funding research.
"People will have the opportunity to speak directly to a member of the physiotherapist team and complete the healthy backs quiz," stated chartered physiotherapist Will Hawling.
He added that the aim of the initiative is to get people to examine ways in which they can become active and prevent back problems from occurring.
